Herb Planter Workshop

Plant your own herb garden (in a large container) for your front step, balcony or backyard. This workshop is perfect for herb lovers, new gardeners, foodies and home-cooks and anyone looking to increase their herb growing and preserving skills or culinary use of herbs. Participants will learn about growing and caring for herbs in containers. Preferred preservation techniques (drying/freezing/fresh use) will be reviewed along with tips and ideas for using more herbs in your home cooking. Participants can select their preferred herbs and edible flowers (from a variety of farm-grown plants include thyme, parsley, sage, basil, lemon balm, mint, chives, nasturtium and calendula etc).

All supplies are provided with registration including take-home information, the large planter of herbs (that you can reuse the following year) and a summer supply of organic fertilizer to keep your herbs healthy. Feel free to bring your favourite garden gloves if you prefer to keep your hands clean.

Participants are invited to stay for a guided tour of our on-farm herb gardens.

Online payment ($45 plus tax per person) and pre-registration is required. Limited to 7 people.
