With modern times they become almost obsolete\, but with a resurgence of this skill the baskets are coming back. \nJoin Cameron Broome as he explains the constructing of ash baskets\, the techniques used to harvest the ash\, split and dry and then weave the strips into a basket. Our knowledgeable and friendly interpreters will be giving you a chance to try your hand at the everyday skills once used on rural farms many years ago. It’s your chance to work in the forge of the Morley Blacksmith Shop or make candles from tallow and beeswax in Rosebank Cottage. It’s a chance for the kids to make crafts and try skills that entertained kids many years ago!
