New Ross Golden Age Club
The New Ross Golden Age Club was founded in 1976 by a group of local seniors led by Hugh Walker. It is a club for senior citizens to meet, socialize and have fun. We hold monthly meetings, potluck suppers and weekly card parties as well as special events like senior’s picnics and information sessions of interest to our members.
We meet at the Seniors Building at the New Ross Fair Grounds. We have a table at the fair where we sell tickets on a hand-made quilt along with baked goods and miscellaneous items (books, household articles etc). We also host a ticket auction each fall. Funds raised are used to cover club expenses and any extra funds are donated to worthwhile charities. In the past we have supported the VON, the New Ross Volunteer Fire Department, Christmas Daddies, Bonny Lea Farm and many more worthwhile organizations.
Our hall can be rented for a small fee by anyone wanting to hold meetings, parties, family reunions showers etc. Our President is Shirley Keddy and the Secretary/Treasurer is Marie Adams. New members are always welcome. For further information on joining the club or renting the hall please contact Shirley at 902-681-8832 or Marie at 902-689-2934.
