4 Week Canning Course with Liz Young
FREE – Tuesdays in November, starting on the 8th, 15th, 22nd, 29th from 1:00pm – 4:00pm.
During the 4-week course participants will learn the basic of food preparation for canning to preserve fruits and vegetables of the season. It will also include an explanation of appropriate cleaning, sanitizing, and sterilization of surfaces, utensils equipment, and jars. Each week will include a demonstration, recipes, hands-on preparation and taking home samples of the items made.
- Week 1 – Can Fruit (pears and peaches)
- Week 2 – Jam’s & Jellies
- Week 3 – Tomatoe Chutney & Traditional Salsa
- Week 4 – Can Vegetables (mixed veggies & pickles)
