27th Annual New Ross Christmas Festival_cancelled

Statement From: New Ross Regional Development Society (Nov 28)

As an organization we have to be cautious about having visitors come to our community. As a result we have made the difficult decision to cancel the 27th New Ross Christmas Festival.

Some businesses and organizations may still chose to be open. Please refer to the brochure for phone numbers and call ahead to find out if they are open.

Check back next week for more updates on our Tree Lighting. We may be able to go virtual!

Some events are still going ahead. The tree lighting will be at 7PM on Friday, Dec. 4th. This will be video recorded and shown on line a little later. Vittles will not be open for hot-chocolate. We ask anyone who decides to come to please keep in their family groups and distance themselves from others.

New Ross Legion is happy to announce the Fireworks display this Friday at 7:45 will go ahead as planned. This Belated Canada Day celebration is sponsored by the Legion, Canadian Heritage Fund, MODC, and our Community businesses. During the display we encourage people to stay in their cars and obey all NS Health Guidelines (maintain social distancing and mask wearing in public places). The Take Out Supper Friday night from 4-6 is still going ahead as planned. Last day to preorder is Tuesday, Dec 01.

The Legion will be open Friday night but unfortunately No Live Music will be provided.

All Christmas Tree U-Picks are open as well as Charmaine’s Wreaths and local businesses.

Enjoy the Carollers who are out and about. Linda Hiltz has put a lot of heart in their creation over the years and is retiring from this project. Let us all thank her for her creative work. and have a Merry Christmas!
