Ross Farm MuseumIn earlier years usually in November, families prepared for winter by putting up barrels of sauerkraut. This is a process in which cabbage is shredded, salted, and stomped in a barrel and then allowed to ferment for 4 to 6 weeks.
By the Light of the Candle
